Earlier in the press release, it was communicated that Late fee won't be levied on the returns for the interim period, to give the sense of comfort to taxpayers, but GSTN system started showing late fee amount after the due date. Now, official notification has been released by CBEC clarifying the same that late fee will not be leviable. The question now is that there are many taxpayers who have already paid the late fee amount, so whether they will get the refund of such amount or will be allowed credit?
