It was notified by the government that now the taxpayers whose turnover is below 1.5 crores will be required to furnish the quarterly GSTR1 return till March 2018 instead of monthly returns, as many taxpayers reported the monthly return cycle to be cumbersome.

Functionality to file quarterly GSTR 1 returns has now been provided on the GST Portal, for those taxpayers whose value of clearances is less than Rs 1.5 Cr in current or previous financial year. So, now the taxpayers who are required to file quarterly GSTR1 can proceed with the compliance.

The last date to file GSTR1 for the time period July – September is 31st December 2017.
